Hindi cinema on streaming: where to start and where to find it
June 10, 2026 · 6 min read
Hindi cinema has never been easier to stream — or harder to navigate. The catalog is scattered across half a dozen services, and the best work of the last five years often isn't the stuff on billboards. Here's a working map.
Where Hindi movies actually live
Four services carry most of the weight. Netflix takes big theatrical acquisitions and prestige originals. Prime Video has arguably the deepest licensed Bollywood library plus strong originals. JioHotstar dominates blockbusters and anything touching the Disney or HBO pipelines. ZEE5 and SonyLIV own enormous back catalogs and some of the sharpest web originals — Scam 1992 lives on SonyLIV for a reason.
Start with the modern classics
If you're building a watchlist from scratch: the Hirani comedies (3 Idiots, Munna Bhai), the Aamir Khan social dramas (Dangal, Taare Zameen Par), the gangster epics (Gangs of Wasseypur), and the new-wave thrillers (Andhadhun, Talvar). Check each title's page for live availability in your country.
Don't skip the series
The OTT era's biggest gift to Hindi storytelling is the long format: Mirzapur, Panchayat, Paatal Lok, Sacred Games. Our Hindi hub tracks which ones are pulling the biggest audiences right now.
Let your taste lead
The fastest shortcut: set SearchOTT's language to Hindi, rate ten titles you already know on the homepage, and let the taste engine surface the films and shows that match your fingerprint.
